Level 3 – Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults (7 hours)

Group of up to four places – £280 (£70pp)

Additional places – £50pp

This course is aimed at Designated Safeguarding Leads or those aspiring to be Designated Safeguarding Leads.

Safeguarding is the process of protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect caused by the actions — or inaction — of others. To do this effectively, we must learn how to identify those at risk and take appropriate steps to prevent harm.

Everyone has the right to feel safe and live free from abuse, neglect, or exploitation. This course is designed to help you recognise the signs of abuse, understand how it can happen — often involving someone in a position of trust — and know what actions to take to prevent it and stop it from recurring.

The course is suitable for anyone, regardless of their professional background, and aims to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to make a positive difference in the life of a vulnerable person. It also offers guidance on how to safeguard yourself when reporting concerns or seeking help in your role.

The certificate awarded on successful completion does not expire. However, many organisations recommend annual refresher training, and this course may be appropriate for that purpose. There is no requirement to have completed Level 1 prior.
